The NLSCA typically runs a scholastic chess tournament about once every month throughout the school year. Tournaments are run by NLSCA volunteers in accordance with the NLSCA Tournament Rules. Most tournaments run by the NLSCA are rated tournaments (see the NLSCA Ratings pagefor more details). Tournament announcements will appear on this page and results will be posted here shortly after each tournament. Information on past tournaments is available from the NLSCA Archives.
Important Note to Parents: All tournament participants must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian. Neither the Newfoundland and Labrador School Chess Association (NLSCA) nor its volunteers, nor the staff at the host school will be held responsible for the safety or behaviour of participants not actively engaged in tournament play. The responsibility of the tournament organizers will be limited to ensuring fair competition in accordance with NLSCA tournament rules. (See tournament rules for more information).
In addition to the scholastic chess events, the
Newfoundland and Labrador Chess Association (NLCA) runs tournaments open to all ages at
the end of every month. More details on NLCA events is available from the
NLCA web site at March 9, 2011
