MQP Open Chess Tournament

* Registration from 9:20 to 9:50 pm * $10 on site *

Games begin at 10:00 am

Late comers may have to take a bye for round 1 after closing of registration

 

* 7 Sections:  Grade K/1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, JH and up *

 

* Medals for top 3 players in each grade 6 and under *

 

* Sections may be combined if there are fewer than 4 players in a grade but will be given separate awards for each section *

 

* Gift certificates/cash prizes for JH/HS *

* No playoffs for JH/HS * Games should be over by 3:30 except for the playoffs *

                                                                                                                                                

* No official lunch-break *  Snacks and drinks will be available *

 

Important Note to Parents:

All tournament participants must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian.  Neither the Newfoundland and Labrador School Chess Association (NLSCA) nor Mary Queen of Peace School will be held responsible for the safety or behaviour of participants not actively engaged in tournament play.  The responsibility of the tournament organizers will be limited to ensuring fair competition in accordance with NLSCA tournament rules.  (See http://www.chess.nl.ca/information/rules.htm for more information).
