In the Sections 1 to 4, medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Section 5 will have cash prizes for the top three performances based on the number of participants. A canteen service will be provided with juice and healthy snacks.

All tournament participants must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian. Neither the Newfoundland and Labrador School Chess Association (NLSCA) nor Virginia Park Elementary School will be held responsible for the safety or behaviour of participants not actively engaged in tournament play.
