 When I was 5 years old.

Q. Do you prefer the white pieces or the black pieces?

 The black pieces.

Q. What are your favourite openings?

 The French defense, the Grunfeld defense, Queen's Gambit.

Q. What are your thoughts on chess in Newfoundland compared to chess n other provinces (if applicable)?

  Best so far compared to Toronto which has the biggest chess association.

Q. Has chess helped you develop other skills in life?

 Brain games, thinking ahead, etc.

Q. Do you have any advice you could offer to any aspiring players?

 Don't worry if you lose, practise a lot and play alot of chess, you can learn the most from the games you lose.
